Where art and craftsmanship meet.

Well, hello there — my name is Gemma Powell, and I’m a Northamptonshire-based wildlife and pet portrait artist. I have a deep love for the countryside and animals, and they are always at the heart of my artwork. I discovered needle felting in 2020, and from the very first moment, I completely fell in love with it. I create both 3D sculptures and 2D wool portraits, and I truly enjoy the different stories and personalities each piece allows me to bring to life.
I love the gentle journey of watching a piece grow from the very first fibres to the finished artwork. I work from my home workshop, most days with my beloved dog Stanley by my side, keeping me company while I create. Before finding my way into textile art, I spent 30 years as a florist, which gave me a natural eye for colour, texture, and detail — something I now weave into every piece of my work.
I truly love meeting my customers and pride myself on building genuine, lasting relationships with them. One of my favourite parts of what i do is meeting their furry friends along the way. i also host needle felting workshops and design my own unique kits, sharing the magic and joy of creating with others. the best way to stay up to date with all of these is to sign up to my monthly newsletter its not a regular boring newsletter its more a blog-style update of what myself and Stanley have been up to and upcoming events trust me Stanley is no ordinary dog.
